Chinthamani Kolacase

At the centre of it is Lal Krishna Viradiar, a criminal lawyer whose method is even stranger than his purpose. Viradiar gets hardened criminals out of court and then goes after those same people and applies his own idea of justice to them. Shaji Kailas directed the hundred and forty-nine minute Malayalam film with Suresh Gopi in the lead, Thilakan, Biju Menon, Kalabhavan Mani and Saikumar in support, and Bhavana appearing briefly as the character the title is named for. Prem Prakash and Vani Viswanath are also in it, and the film sits somewhere between courtroom thriller and vigilante picture. It was among the highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2006 and is counted as one of the last big commercial successes of Kailas’s run.
