Commissioner

Bharathchandran is an honest police commissioner. He is posted to Ernakulam. There is an organised criminal network operating there. At the head of it sits a well known drug dealer. Bharathchandran takes a hard line from the start. His temper goes every time he meets a corrupt official. The politicians get their share of it too. In the end he decides to go after the whole arrangement. The film is built from end to end as a crime thriller. Some of Suresh Gopi’s lines from it turned into catchphrases. The part made him a star in Malayalam cinema. Renji Panicker wrote the screenplay. The film did very well at the box office. Suresh Gopi and Ratheesh appear in the hundred and seventy minute film, an Indian production Shaji Kailas finished in 1994.
