Chitralahari

Kishore Tirumala's 2019 Telugu film follows Vijay, an engineer at whom nothing sticks. He has been trying for years to develop a product and every attempt fails; his relationships jam at the same point as his working life. The subject is failure repeating. The narrative does not present Vijay as someone wronged; it shows the part his own decisions played and brings the turn not through a single event but through his learning to wait. Sai Durgha Tej leads, with Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nivetha Pethuraj opposite him. The tone is measured, the music foregrounded and the family scenes given wide space. The narrative raises its emotional emphasis in the final section. Who it's for: those who like Telugu drama and narratives about careers. Who it's not for: viewers expecting dense plotting; the film proceeds through repetition.
