Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga

Neha is a flight attendant and has a debt to pay. Her boyfriend Ankit brings a plan: steal the diamonds being carried on the plane. It will be done during the flight and finished before landing. The plane takes off. Then something else happens: a voice announces from the cabin that the plane has been hijacked and demands are set out. Neha's plan is over; now she has to hide what she has taken and behave like one of the passengers. Who is deceiving whom keeps changing through the film. Ajay Singh directs. Yami Gautam Dhar plays Neha and Sunny Kaushal plays Ankit. It was released on Netflix. What the narrative builds is two plans laid over each other; the theft and the hijacking are on the same plane and each begins unaware of the other. The setting is deliberately narrow; most of the narrative takes place inside the aircraft and there is no way out. The choice of pace is fast and the plot keeps adding information, which suits what the genre expects. Its problem is plausibility; some steps rest on coincidence and the technical details are strained. The character Yami Gautam plays is built as a planner rather than a victim, and that is the film's idea. It was widely watched on release and counted among the recent examples of Indian thrillers. Who it is for: viewers who like closed setting thrillers and fast plotting. Who it is not for: there are gaps in the logic, the characters are thinly written, and the ending is too tidy.
