Three small-time thieves get a tip about a job with real money in it. But they have nothing to start with; they cannot even cover the welding torch the job requires. So they bring in a more capable colleague, Alphonse. The plan is well made and it goes wrong anyway. Alphonse is the only one caught and he serves several years. The other three stay outside. When he comes out, the only thing on his mind is settling it. Pierre Granier-Deferre directs, with Lino Ventura as Alphonse and Charles Aznavour as one of the three, alongside Maurice Biraud and Pierre Brasseur. It belongs to the French crime comedy line, and the real subject is not the robbery but the price of a betrayal.
