Summer, the beach of a small town in Brittany. A man is building a sandcastle and a few people are watching him. The film tells the story of three of those watchers: Jumbo, who is nine, Francois, and his sister Zaza. All three have lost someone they loved and are trying to work out what to do with that death. Rather than tying the three stories together, the account sets them side by side; the only thing they share is being on the same stretch of sand. Didier Sandre and Charles Berling appear in Pascale Ferran’s hundred and four minute French film, completed in 1994.
