Conviction

A woman disappears in Toulouse, no body is found, and her husband Jacques Viguier is tried. He is acquitted at the first trial, the prosecution appeals, and the case is reopened. A woman named Nora, convinced he is innocent, starts working as a volunteer for the defence lawyer, listening through thousands of hours of intercepted calls and giving her life to the file. Antoine Raimbault wrote it from a real case; Nora is invented, but the courtroom passages rest on the record. The question is not whether the man is guilty but how convicting without evidence comes to look possible. Olivier Gourmet plays the lawyer and Marina Foïs plays Nora.
