Coronation

Andres is the last heir of a Chilean family that was once wealthy and respected. He has grown old and is left alone. He lives in a run down mansion on the edge of Santiago. His elderly grandmother is in the house too, and he hires young Estela to look after her. In spite of the difference in class and in age, Andres begins paying attention to the girl. Estela’s fiancé Mario looks for a way to make money out of the situation. The air in the mansion grows heavier. The film uses the house as a picture of a class coming down. Julio Jung and Adela Secall take the leads in Silvio Caiozzi’s Chilean film of 2000.
