Manolo Bonilla is a television reporter working out of Miami. He goes to Ecuador, where a serial killer known as the Monster of Babahoyo is being hunted for the murders of children. Manolo talks to a man in prison who says he knows who the killer is. What he wants in exchange is coverage of his own case. Manolo takes the bargain, and as he chases the story what is actually true slides into second place. Sebastián Cordero directs, with John Leguizamo and Damián Alcázar. Alfonso Cuarón and Guillermo del Toro are among the producers. The film screened at Cannes. What it is about is not the murders but a reporter's hunger for a story of his own.
