What Days of El Sadat Is About
The film tells the life of the Egyptian president Anwar Sadat: his childhood in the countryside, his entry into politics, his years in the army, his time as president and finally his killing at a military parade. Ahmed Zaki plays Sadat from his youth to his death, and the part became one of the roles he is most remembered for. The account gives the life in order rather than arguing about the man’s decisions; the camera never leaves his side and events are always seen from where he stands. The killing is given once, without going into detail. Mohamed Khan’s hundred and sixty six minute Egyptian film was completed in 2001.
