The account is set on a summer day in Gaza. That day there is electricity. Christine’s beauty salon is full. Several women are waiting inside. One is getting ready for a wedding. One is pregnant. One has recently divorced. A devout woman is among them as well. Then gunfire starts in the street. A settling of scores is going on across the way. A family has taken the lion from the zoo. The women cannot get out. The hours pass inside the salon. As the tension grows the talk turns sharp. Hiam Abbass and Maisa Abd Elhadi take the leads, with Manal Awad also in the cast, in the Lebanese, French and Palestinian coproduction Tarzan Nasser and Arab Nasser made in 2016.
