Delhi Dance

The film is in seven parts, each with its own title and its own credits, each standing as a short film of its own. All seven take place in the same location, the corridor of a hospital. At the centre is a dancer who has created a dance she calls the Delhi Dance. She found what inspired it in the dusty markets of Delhi. Across the parts the same people meet, love one another, lose those close to them and look for peace. Death and dance are held inside the same sentence. The film comes from a stage play and chooses to keep the weight of the spoken text. Karolina Gruszka and Igor Gordin appear in Ivan Vyrypaev’s ninety five minute Russian film, completed in 2012.
