Detention

Wilson Walmsley takes a post as a substitute teacher at a high school. The school is in a suburban district. What he walks into is a heavy situation. The administration has neither authority nor interest. The teachers do not step into anything. Respect and order among the students are gone. Walmsley grows close to Louise, who teaches art. He also looks out for Joey, a student who is bullied. One day a student named Davey sexually assaults Louise. Walmsley intervenes and gets her out of it. For that, the two of them are taken to court. Then Davey’s girlfriend beats Louise as well. At this point the man’s patience runs out. He drugs seven students and takes them away. He brings them to an isolated property in Texas. There he announces that his class has begun and that the rules will hold. John S. Davies and Marsha Dietlein appear in the hundred and eight minute film, an American production Andy Anderson finished in 1998.
