What Dharam Veer Is About

Twin brothers are separated from each other the moment they are born. The one who has it done is their uncle, their mother’s brother. Twenty years pass and the two become closest friends without knowing they are related. The uncle still means to take the throne and does all he can to set the friends against each other. After a death, Dharam learns his own past: his real mother is the present maharani, Prince Vir is his brother, and his real father is Javal, a hunter. The film tells this with adventure, comedy and fantasy all together. The reckoning between family and power sits at the centre of the story. Dharmendra, Zeenat Aman and Jeetendra appear in Manmohan Desai’s hundred and sixty five minute Indian film, completed in 1977.
