Coolie

Iqbal is separated from his mother and brother by a flood when he is small. Years later he is working as a porter at a Mumbai railway station. He stands up for his own rights and those of the other porters, and a powerful businessman in the city comes up against him. Directed by Manmohan Desai, the film is among Amitabh Bachchan's most talked-about, though its place in film history was set by an accident. During a fight scene in 1982 Bachchan was badly injured; he spent months in hospital and at one point his condition became critical. Shooting resumed in 1983. In the finished film that shot is frozen and the moment of the accident is marked on screen with a title. The ending of the script was also changed after his recovery.
