What The Broken Landlord Is About
The agha of the village of Haraptar marries his elderly father to Kiraz, the young daughter of one of his labourers; the old man dies on the wedding night, and from that day everything turns against him. Drought comes, the peasants take the crop and leave for Istanbul, and eventually the agha sells his land and goes to the city too. There he learns that being an agha means nothing and that what he has left disappears fast. Nesli Colgecen tells the unravelling of the feudal order and the migration as comedy, and what is being laughed at slowly turns into something else. One of Sener Sen's best parts.
