Diamond Necklace

Arun is an oncologist working in Dubai. He earns well and spends all of it: the car, the flat, women, nightlife. He gives no thought to tomorrow. Then the debts pile up, creditors come after him and he is barred from leaving the country. The solutions that occur to him put him inside a tangled arrangement involving three women at once. Lal Jose's film is about the world of Indians working in the Gulf: high salaries, high spending, and the money the family back home expects to be sent. It is one of the films that built Fahadh Faasil's career. The telling does not make Arun a likeable type; it watches him pay for what he has done. The two and a half hours drag in places, but the change in the character earns it.
