Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox

The documentary is about the family behind a soap brand. Emanuel Bronner was an immigrant from Germany. He learned soapmaking as a family trade. The soap he made became a favourite of the counterculture. Bronner filled his soap labels with writing. In tiny print he preached the unity of mankind. He called that thinking the Moral ABC. His parents were killed in Germany. He himself had left the country in time. He later settled in California. His two sons grew up in institutions as children. The man put his own calling ahead of his children. Ralph passed through more than fifteen orphanages and foster homes. He defends his father wholeheartedly all the same. The sons took over the company. Dr. Bronner appears in the eighty eight minute documentary. It is an American production Sara Lamm finished in 2007.
