Drugstore Romance

Pierrot is a young man who works as a mechanic in Paris. He falls in love with a pharmacist older than himself. At first she does not answer that feeling and keeps her distance. She accepts the relationship only after learning that she has a fatal illness. The film does not explain that decision, it only shows it. The difference in age and the illness keep changing the distance between the two of them. The account uses the shape of melodrama but does not enlarge the feeling. The hundred and twenty one minutes pass between two people. Hélène Surgère and Nicolas Silberg take the leads, with Myriam Mézières also in the cast. Paul Vecchiali’s French film was completed in 1979.
