Drunken Birds

Willy is looking for a woman in Mexico. The one he is after is Marlena, a lost love. The trail takes him all the way to Canada. He takes a job on a farm near Montreal. He will work there as a seasonal labourer. The farm is called Bécotte. The days are long and the work is heavy. There are other lives on the same land. The family who own the farm have troubles of their own. The distance between them and the workers is plain. The tension rises slowly. Willy’s own past does not leave him alone either. There are moments in the story that slip into magical realism. The film sets them between the long working days. Jorge Antonio Guerrero and Marine Johnson appear in the hundred and four minute film, a Canadian production Ivan Grbovic finished in 2021.
