Eden of the East Movie I: The King of Eden

Takizawa prevented Japan's destruction and disappeared immediately afterwards. Six months later Saki follows his trail to New York. The remaining Selecao are planning their final move, some wanting Takizawa out of the way, others wanting to use him. Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, the film continues directly from the 2009 television series and is the first of two features that close it out. The series ran on a phone that erases your memory, a budget of ten billion yen, and a game whose stated task was saving the country. The film asks less about the rules of that game than about the intentions of whoever set it up. It does not resolve the mystery, and deliberately leaves questions open, because the story finishes in the second film. Who it's for: Viewers who know the series, and anyone who likes conspiracy-driven science fiction and Kamiyama's work. Who it's not for: There is almost no entry point for newcomers, and the film does not stand alone. The second part is required.
