What Ee Adutha Kaalathu Is About

The film ties together six lives from different layers of the city through events none of the six can control. It does not run in a straight line; the pieces are turned like a Rubik’s cube until they seat, and the audience spends the film trying to see the connections before it shows them. Murali Gopy wrote the screenplay and also appears in it, and the film, directed by Arun Kumar Aravind, is counted among the works that started the new wave in Malayalam cinema. None of the characters is wholly good or wholly bad, and that is where its real interest sits: in never being sure what a person will do next.
