What Egg Is About
Yusuf, a poet, learns that his mother has died and goes back to the town he left years ago. The house is falling apart, and there is a young woman in it he has never met: Ayla, a distant relative who has been living with his mother for five years. She has a request. Before dying, the mother made a vow, and the son is the one who has to carry out the sacrifice. The two of them set off. This is the first film shot in Semih Kaplanoğlu's Yusuf trilogy, and the last in the story's chronology. Little dialogue, a camera that stays put, time moving slowly. Nejat İşler is Yusuf, Saadet Işıl Aksoy is Ayla.
