Ein Geschenk der Götter

Anna is an actress at a small municipal theatre. She loses her job from one day to the next and finds herself at the local job centre. The caseworker there is keen on theatre and puts a job to her. The work is to run an acting course for eight people who have been out of work a long time. Those taking part resist the compulsory course from the start. But in time something forms between them. Anna begins staging Antigone with them. As the rehearsals go on, what is happening in each of their lives comes onto the stage as well. For Anna too a beginning appears that she had not expected. Katharina M. Schubert takes the lead in Oliver Haffner’s German film of 2014.
