What Electra Glide in Blue Is About
John Wintergreen patrols the Arizona highways on a motorcycle, tired of being short and of how ordinary the job is; what he wants is a place on homicide. The death of a man living alone in the desert gives him his chance. The higher he gets, the more clearly he sees what the work and the people around him actually are. This was James William Guercio's only film as director; he was the producer behind the band Chicago and had a hand in the music too. Conrad Hall's desert photography and the closing shot that runs for minutes are what everyone remembers. Built as an answer to Easy Rider.
