What Eltern Is About
Christine is an anaesthetist on her way to becoming head of department; Konrad stays at home and looks after their two daughters, Käthe and Emma. The arrangement works until Konrad is offered a job directing in the theatre again. From that moment the question of who carries the daily life comes before everything else, and it turns out to be far from easy to find someone to take it on. Robert Thalheim directed, and the film describes the division of roles inside a family as comedy, without looking for anyone to blame. Christiane Paul plays Christine and Charly Hübner plays Konrad. It screened at the Zurich film festival on 28 September 2013 and opened in Germany on 14 November.
