Eternal Flame of Gehenna

The documentary takes up the black metal scene in Finland. The director speaks with leading figures of that scene and gives them in their own words. The people interviewed talk about satanic values, about glorifying evil, and about their hostility to Christian and multicultural society. As the film has it, this is for them something beyond youthful rebellion. The account also lets them speak on subjects like the desecration of graves and the burning of churches. Finnish security intelligence counts the scene a threat to public safety, and the film carries that view too without taking on the job of defending or accusing. The work also looks at the history of the scene and where it stood at the time. Sami Kettunen’s fifty minute Finnish documentary was completed in 2011.
