Florida Man

The documentary takes up people living in Florida. The team had no plan written in advance. They drove around and stopped at whoever caught their interest. The encounters are short and direct. The director does not conduct long interviews. Most of the time he asks a single question. The people before him tell their own stories. Whatever is on their minds goes on record. The places filmed are everyday places. Outside bars, laundromats and motel rooms are among them. Outside liquor stores and small flats go on record too. The film watches people without passing judgement. The director chooses to approach people who usually go unnoticed. The account is built on that stance. Sean Dunne’s American documentary of 2015 runs fifty minutes.
