Aske and Bastian are brothers. They are growing up in their father Lasse's house, among drink, fear and violence. Aske was abused by his father from a young age, and the man sold him to others as well. Aske keeps it from his brother and does everything he can to stop Bastian going through the same thing. One day he cannot stop it. The two of them leave home and go to Norway. What the film is about is not the escape but what is left afterwards. Brian Bang directs the Danish film; a hundred and seventeen minutes, with Elias Munk as Aske and Christoffer Jensen as Bastian. It takes on a difficult subject directly and caused argument wherever it was shown. It is Bang's first feature.
