What The Cakemaker Is About
Thomas runs a small bakery in Berlin. He has had a months-long affair with Oren, an Israeli who comes to Berlin often for work, and he knows Oren has a wife and child in Jerusalem. When Oren dies in a car crash, Thomas goes to Jerusalem and, without saying who he is, starts working in the café owned by Oren's widow Anat. The cakes he bakes bring the place to life while his identity becomes a lie that grows heavier every day. Graizer holds the film where grief, desire and religious rules meet, and blames nobody.
