A seventy-four-minute, black and white, low-budget cult musical. A door in the Hercules family's basement opens onto a place called the Sixth Dimension. When Frenchy goes through it King Fausto falls for her, Queen Doris gets jealous and imprisons her, and the family set off to get her back. Richard Elfman directed; his brother Danny Elfman wrote the music and plays Satan. It looks like something lifted out of a cabaret act. A warning is needed: the film contains sexual violence, incest and blackface, and that last is plainly racist, which was argued about at the time as well.
