What Forever Never Anywhere Is About
The history professor Baisch, his depressive and pill dependent brother in law Anzengruber, and a manic cabaret performer crash their car on an empty country road on the way home from a party. The car wedges between two trees, the doors will not open and the bulletproof glass will not break. Injured, with no sign of rescue, they wait for days. Their entire supply is a bowl of herring salad and a few bottles of prosecco. Rage alternates with fear, overwrought laughter with helpless crying, and then it gets worse. Antonin Svoboda works the blackest branch of Austrian cabaret humour here.
