Ruza left Serbia more than thirty years ago and settled in Zurich. Her days are all alike, and she built that order with care. Then Ana turns up and breaks it. Both are women who will not back down, and a quiet, unshowy friendship forms slowly between them. The film tells migration not as a problem of adjustment but as a long relationship with what was left behind. The account pities nobody and rescues nobody. The difference in age and experience between them is part of the account too; one of them made the leaving long ago, the other has only just set out. Mirjana Karanovic plays the lead in Andrea Staka’s eighty one minute Swiss film, completed in 2006.
