What From Miyamoto to You Is About
Miyamoto is a salesman who is new at his work, quick to anger and physically weak. He meets Yasuko and something starts between them. Then Yasuko is raped by the son of Miyamoto’s boss. He sets out to make the man answer for it, but he has neither the strength nor the means, and the helplessness drives him into rage. When it emerges that Yasuko is pregnant, the matter goes somewhere else entirely. The film takes masculinity not as a solution but as the problem itself, and shows that nobody here is a hero. It was adapted from a comic series. Sosuke Ikematsu and Yu Aoi appear in Tetsuya Mariko’s hundred and twenty nine minute Japanese film, completed in 2019.
