What G Is About
This is The Great Gatsby moved into the world of hip hop, and even the title comes from there. Summer G falls for Sky at college and she leaves him for a man further up the ladder. Ten years later he has built a music empire and bought a house in the Hamptons, close to where Sky now lives with her husband. The narrator watching it all is a music journalist. Cherot keeps the novel's skeleton and builds his own world on it: money, class, and what success is supposed to prove.
