Gaganam

Radha Mohan's 2011 Telugu film takes place on a hijacked plane. A struggle damages the engine and the aircraft makes an emergency landing at Tirupati; the commando officer Ravi is given charge of the response. The film puts negotiation ahead of action. The situation on board and the decision-making outside run in parallel; the narrative also shows the disagreement among the officials and builds no single hero. Nagarjuna leads, with Prakash Raj on the opposing side. The narrative explains the hijackers' reasoning late and does not leave them one-dimensional. The setting is almost entirely the runway and the cabin. Who it's for: those who like hostage thrillers and single-location narrative. Who it's not for: viewers expecting heavy action; the film is built on talk and waiting.
