What Gall Force: Eternal Story Is About
The Solnoids and the Paranoids have been at war for centuries. Seven Solnoids come out of a large-scale space battle barely intact and set course for Chaos, the planet meant to become their people’s new home, but a malfunction during the light-speed jump throws their ship ahead of the fleet and leaves the crew to handle whatever comes next alone. The Solnoids are an entirely female species, and their story began not on screen but in the hobby magazine Model Graphix, as a photo serial staged with scale models, which is also where Kenichi Sonoda’s character designs come from. Katsuhito Akiyama directed from a script by Sukehiro Tomita for Artmic and AIC, and the film opened on 26 July 1986.
