What Getting Go: The Go Doc Project Is About
A recent college graduate is fixated on a go-go dancer he has been following online. He has no nerve for simply going up and introducing himself. Instead he says he is making a documentary about New York nightlife and arranges to interview him. With the camera in between them talking gets easier, but as the film goes on it stops being clear who is recording whom, or what the documentary is actually for. Cory Krueckeberg's film is built as a mock documentary and shot almost entirely on a handheld camera, with Tanner Cohen and Matthew Camp. It takes on desire, shame and hiding behind a camera all at the same time.
