Girls in the Sun

The film is set on a Greek island. Annabel has come there on holiday. She is an English tourist. On the island she meets a shepherd. The first meeting happens in a field. The man wants to hand her some almonds. But his appearance frightens her. Annabel misreads his intention and runs. Not long after, the man is arrested. The charge goes on record as an assault. Annabel comes to regret what she did. She works to have him released. Something grows between the two of them. When he is freed he follows her to Athens. But the time comes for Annabel to go home. Giannis Voglis and Anne Lonnberg take the leads in Vasilis Georgiadis’s Greek film of 1968.
