Glissando

The film is set in the nineteen thirties. The man at its centre is a gambler. He comes from the middle class. Gambling shapes his life. One day he meets an elderly man. The old man brings him luck at the tables. The gambler starts winning. But he sets no value on the friendship. He uses the man for his own ends. The old man takes his own life after this. The gambler then wanders through his house. The place unsettles him further. His mind comes apart little by little. In the last stretch of the film what is real and what is imagined no longer separate. The director builds that collapse as the counterpart of a wider disorder. Ştefan Iordache and Tora Vasilescu appear in the one hundred sixty five minute film, a Romanian production Mircea Daneliuc finished in 1982.
