What Hawaii, Oslo Is About

Oslo, on the hottest day of the year. A handful of people who do not know each other cross paths in the course of one day. Frode and Milla are expecting their first child and have been told the baby will not live long. A faded singer called Bobbie-Pop tries to kill herself. Leon, a kleptomaniac in an institution, is looking for Åsa, whom he promised to marry ten years ago. Leon's brother Trygve is out of prison on leave and plans not to go back. At the centre of all of it is Vidar, Leon's friend at the institution, a man who sees what nobody else sees. Erik Poppe's film ties these stories together inside a single day, a day built to feel less like coincidence than like fate.
