What Heal Is About
Kelly Noonan Gores's documentary argues that by changing how you perceive things, the body can heal itself of any disease. Deepak Chopra, Bruce Lipton, Joe Dispenza, Marianne Williamson and Anita Moorjani speak, and their contributions are cut together with the stories of several people living with serious diagnoses. The case is made in the language of science, but what it rests on is largely individual anecdote, and that is exactly where medical critics went after it: evidence replaced by testimony, the chemotherapy behind one recovery pushed into the background, and the burden that laying illness at the patient's own mind puts on sick people. Worth holding that distinction while you watch.
