What Heist 88 Is About
Chicago, 1988. A seasoned confidence man recruits a group of young bank employees to move millions of dollars out of the building by wire transfer. No vault, no guns: the whole thing runs on a few phone calls, a few passwords and a few lies told at the right moment. Courtney B. Vance's character assembles his crew not with money but by being the first person to take any of them seriously. It draws on the real 1988 attempt at the First National Bank of Chicago, where the transfers were traced within a business day and everyone was arrested.
