Honestly, I'm Fine

Anne de Clercq's 2026 Dutch film follows Emma, who is certain she is fine. Her career works, she has a relationship and she is close to her parents, and then she finds herself on a psychiatric ward. Emma treats this as a mistake. The film's interest is not diagnosis but how long a person can put off seeing their own condition; the narrative holds that denial between the comic and the painful. Gaite Jansen leads. The other patients on the ward are not made into caricatures and recovery follows no straight line. The narrative offers no firm close. Who it's for: viewers of drama that treats mental health directly. Who it's not for: viewers for whom a psychiatric ward and scenes of crisis would be difficult.
