What Hungarians Is About

A group of Hungarian peasants have no land. They are offered work in Germany. The place they are going to is a farm in the north. The wages are good and families can come along. So the women and children travel too. The year is one of the years of the Second World War. On the farm they are not badly off. They are fed and they earn money. There are other people around them, though. They see how prisoners of war and others are treated. What they see unsettles them. When the harvest ends they make a decision. They choose to go back to Hungary. The country they return to is in the middle of the war. Gábor Koncz and Éva Pap appear in the hundred and seven minute film, a Hungarian production Zoltán Fábri finished in 1978.
