What Requiem Is About
A young man comes to see a doctor. He has come about a red mark on his face. At the door the doctor’s wife receives him. She takes him into the consulting room. The two of them begin to talk. She gives the young man something to eat. Then something catches her attention. The way he eats reminds her of her first husband. That man died in prison years ago. The young man had been his cellmate for a year. He tells her how the death came about. The woman goes back over those years. Her present husband keeps ringing on the telephone. She does not answer the calls. Edit Frajt and Lajos Balazsovits take the leads in Zoltan Fabri’s Hungarian film of 1982.
