I Am Hardwell

The documentary follows the Dutch DJ Hardwell. His name is Robbert van de Corput. Robin Piree filmed him over more than two and a half years. In that time he went from a rising name to an international one. The film opens on a dream he had at sixteen. The dream was to be the number one DJ in the world. The account traces what came of it. Backstage, studio and travel footage carry it. Concert sequences take up much of the running time. The Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam is where it starts. A world tour follows. The film also looks at the dance music of the period, and at the visual design and staging that went with it. Robin Piree directed the hundred and seventy two minute documentary, a Dutch production finished in 2013.
