I Am Still Here

Layla is a child of ten. She lives in an ordinary neighbourhood. One day she does somebody a kindness. The person she helps deceives her. She is taken that day. The film covers the first forty eight hours. The girl tries to get out of where she has been taken. At the same time a detective is following her trail. What happens is given without dwelling on detail. The weight falls on how ordinary the place is. What it says is that this can happen next door to anyone. Mischa Marcus wrote the script after going through real trafficking cases. The film was put forward as a warning. The hundred and four minute film was named best feature at the international festival in Nice. Erika Ringor and Aliyah Conley appear in it, an American production finished in 2017.
