I Believe in Miracles

In the middle of the seventies Nottingham Forest were an ordinary club in England's second division, in danger of going down. Brian Clough and Peter Taylor arrived. The team went up, then won the league, and then took the European Cup twice in a row. All of that happened in four years. Jonny Owen's documentary talks to the surviving players of that squad: John McGovern, Peter Shilton, Viv Anderson and others. Archive footage of Clough himself is used as well. The telling does not present Clough only as a genius; his hard tongue, his handling of players and the partnership with Taylor that later broke down are all discussed. The music is drawn from the songs of the period.
