What I Love Trouble Is About
A wealthy man suspects his wife has a past she has never told him about and hands the job to a private detective. The further the detective pulls the thread, the more false identities, old robberies and bodies come out of it, and the question of who the woman actually is gets murkier with every answer. S. Sylvan Simon’s noir runs the forties private eye formula on fast dialogue and a sardonic tone. Franchot Tone plays the detective, but the real strength of the film is the crowd of women around him.
